Taylor Alison Swift is an American musician and singer. She was born on December 13th, 1989. Her discography spans diverse genres. Swift's songwriting, often inspired from her own life, has was praised by critics. Swift was born in West Reading (PA) and moved to Nashville when she was a teenager in order to pursue the dream of becoming a country singer. She signed a songwriting contract with Sony/ATV Music Publishing in 2004 and signed a recording deal with Big Machine Records in 2005. Her self-titled debut album in 2006 marked Swift as the first female country artist to have an album which was U.S.-certified platinum. Swift's next albums Fearless (2008) & Speak Now (2010) explored country music. "Love Story" (the first country song to reach the top spot on the U.S. chart of pop airplay) and "You Belong with Me," the latter track, were Swift's next albums, Fearless (2008) and Speak Now (2010). Red (2012) was her first experiment with rock and electronic styles. It featured her first Billboard Hot 100 number one track, "We Are Never Ever returning Together". The singer has also renounced her country style on 1989 (2014) the synth-pop album. The album was accompanied by chart-topping singles "Shake It Off", “Blank Space, and "Bad Blood". Reputation (2017), with its number-one song "Look What You Did to Me" Me Do", was the result of media examination. Swift, who had left Big Machine, signed with Republic Records and released Lover (2019) which was her seventh studio record. The autobiographical film Miss Americana was released in 2020. She released her 2020 album Folklore and Evermore. Her singles, "Cardigan", ("Willow")"Willow" as well as "Taylor's Version" were on the Hot 100. After a dispute over her masters, Swift started to record six albums. Swift released two albums in 2021: Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red. Swift has directed music videos, movies and even played supporting roles in other movies. Swift is one among the greatest-selling musicians ever. Swift has sold more than 200 million copies across the world. Swift is the highest-rated female on Spotify and the only artist to have five albums that have over 1 million copies sold within the US. Her awards include 12 Grammy Awards, including three Album of the Year winners and an Emmy Award; 39 American Music Awards and 29 Billboard Music Awards. She also holds the record for 92 Guinness World Records. Swift has been featured in rankings like Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time and Billboard's Greatest of All Time Artists as well as the Time 100 and Forbes Celebrity 100. Swift was awarded the titles of Artist of the Decade as well as Woman of the Decade. Swift is a vocal proponent of women's empowerment as well as artists' rights.
